We plan to add eight new residents to our Rehabilitation Medicine residency training program at the PGY-1 level in July 2010. All of these positions will be committed to the National Intern and Resident Matching Program. Applications will be accepted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).

If you are interested in being considered for a position in our residency training program, please contact:

Applications are accepted through the ERAS system. We begin reviewing files in September. Early completion of the application form and receipt of accompanying material are encouraged. We require the following:

  • Three references - one of which specializes in PM&R
  • Dean's Letter
  • Medical School Transcripts
  • Official USMLE or COMLEX scores (must be released from the agency)
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Personal Statement
  • Completion of an elective in PM&R

We would like to encourage applicants to send us the application form and accompanying informational material as soon as possible. Those applicants in whom we are most interested will be invited for an interview. Our selection of individuals is usually submitted to the Matching Program by mid-February. At this time, we plan to conduct interviews on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout November, December and January.

If you would like to schedule a senior elective in our Department, or if you have further questions or desire further information concerning our program, pleases call our Academic Coordinator, Kim Garza, at 210-567-5359.

Applicants for our Residency Training Program must clear a screening process to ensure that they are not listed by a federal agency as excluded, suspended, or otherwise ineligible for participation in federal programs. The Health Science Center will perform the screening for you at no cost.
